Dahyet Al Ameer Hasan lies in the Marka district, within the Basman area of central Amman. It is surrounded by Dahiet Al-Istiqlal and Dahyet Al Aqsa, and its neighbours include Tabarbour, Al Nuzha, Arjan and Al Madenah Al Reyadeyeh, so getting around the city is easy.
Homes are mostly relatively modern houses and apartment buildings, with standalone houses and villas towards the edges, giving options for different budgets. Public parks and children's playgrounds add outdoor space for families.
Everyday services include shops and malls, restaurants and cafés, clinics and a health centre, pharmacies, banks and leisure venues. Several government bodies are based here, among them the Civil Service Bureau, the General Iftaa Department and the Capital Police Directorate. The neighbourhood overlooks Prince Hamzah Hospital, has a number of expatriate residents, and is known as safe and clean.
There are many public schools, the oldest being the Dahyet Al Ameer Hasan school, and private choices include the Modern Arab Academy Schools girls' branch, Al Hikma Secondary Schools for Boys, Al Orouba Schools and Ayla International Schools. Hospitals nearby include Al Istiklal, Al Kindi, Abdali, the Specialty Hospital and the Jordan Islamic Hospital.
