Mecca Street is one of Amman's main commercial roads and falls within the Zahran area. Many people call it Exhibitions Street because of its showrooms, car showrooms in particular. It runs for about 6 km from Al Kindi Street near the 5th Circle to Al Shaab roundabout on Medical City Street, crossing Al Madina Al Munawwara Street at the Kilo (Haramain) roundabout and meeting Abdullah Ghosheh Street along the way. Mecca Mall is close by.
Property here is largely commercial: offices of varied sizes, shopfronts and business complexes such as Hijaz Towers, Mecca Towers and the Al Dawood complex. Apartments are also available for those who want to live near work and shopping. Khalda lies to the north, Um Al Summaq to the south, Al Rawabi to the west and Dahyet Al Ameer Rashed to the east, with Al Sahl among the residential neighbourhoods nearby.
Well-known addresses on or near the street include the Jordan Electric Power Company, the Social Security Corporation and Al Ghad newspaper. Hospitals close by include Al Haramain Specialty Hospital, Ibn Al Haytham Hospital, The Gardens Hospital and Jordan University Hospital, and schools in the surrounding areas include the Modern English Schools, the Arab Model Schools and the Latin Patriarchate School.
