Dahyet Al Ameer Rashed is a neighbourhood in the Wadi Al Seer district of west Amman, south-west of Swaileh. It borders Telaa Al Ali, Swaileh and Um Al Summaq to the north, Zahran to the east and Bader Al Jadedeh to the west, and Airport Road is within reach.
The area has a traditional residential character, mixing older and newer homes with some commercial and service buildings. Many long-established Jordanian families live here and the community is close-knit. It is described as quiet and safe, which suits families with children, and property prices are seen as reasonable compared with other parts of Amman.
Public transport is close by, and basic services such as schools, mosques, shops and playgrounds are available locally. Government offices include a Jordan Post branch, the property valuation office for building and land tax, and the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department.
Schools in and around the area include the American Community School, Westminster School, Royal Schools, Firas Al Ajlouni Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys and Al Jandaweel Secondary School for Girls. Nearby hospitals include Hussein Medical City, Queen Rania Al Abdullah Children's Hospital, Philadelphia Hospital and Al Khalidi Hospital, and Mecca Mall, City Mall, Galleria Mall and Avenue Mall are all nearby.
