About Al Rabiah

Al Rabiah takes its name from the Arabic word for a raised hill, and it sits on high ground in the middle of Amman with views over much of the city. Winters are cold and summers mild. Officially it belongs to Tla' Al Ali Al Sharqi, although residents rarely use that name. It runs parallel between Gardens Street and Mecca Street, is crossed by Al Madina Al Munawwara Street and Sharif Nasser bin Jameel Street, and borders Telaa Al Ali, Al Shmesani, the Gardens area and Um Uthaina.

The area first developed with housing for senior state officials, followed by private villas. Today it is known for standalone villas, large houses and some palaces, alongside apartment buildings with spacious, well-finished floors. Shops and commercial complexes for sale or rent are in demand, and many companies choose to base their offices here.

Daily life benefits from greenery between the buildings, which suits walking, and a commercial strip with grocery shops, sweet shops, well-known restaurants and cafés. There are also bank branches, travel offices, telecom showrooms, gyms and fashion stores.

Families have a wide choice of schools nearby, such as the Baptist School, Al Zahra Schools, the National Orthodox School, Cambridge High School and Royal Schools, plus Princess Alia University College. Healthcare includes the Consultant Hospital and U Clinic.
