Al Madenah Al Reyadeyeh is named after Al Hussein Youth City, the sports complex founded in 1964 at the initiative of the late King Hussein. It hosts local, regional and international events, and its venues include Amman International Stadium, Petra Stadium, the Palace of Sport, an Olympic pool, Prince Hamzah basketball hall, a boxing hall and the Princess Alia equestrian track. The Jordan Football Association and the Jordan Tennis Federation also have their headquarters and pitches here.
Transport is a practical advantage for residents. The area has a station on the Amman Bus Rapid Transit, which runs in a dedicated lane and connects with other BRT lines, so getting to different parts of Amman and to Zarqa is straightforward.
The neighbourhood is well served for daily needs. Nearby schools include Al Bustami Model School, Al Rai Schools, Ibn Abbas Secondary School for Boys and Princess Tharwat College. Healthcare options include the Specialty Hospital, Al Istiklal Hospital, Palestine Hospital, Al Jazeera Hospital and the Jordan Finnish Modern Hospital. For shopping there are Al Mukhtar Mall, Kareem Hypermarket and Al Shiokhi market for fruit and vegetables.
