About this calculator
The mortgage calculator estimates the monthly payment on the part of the price you finance: the price minus your down payment. It also shows the total of all payments, how much of that is interest or profit, and a yearly summary of what is paid and what is still owed.
The starting rate, term and down payment are Hagzi's defaults for Jordan. Change them to match the quote you have.
Questions
- How is the payment worked out for Islamic finance?
- For a conventional loan, Ijara and diminishing Musharaka, the payment is worked out on the balance still owed, so each payment repays a little more of the amount financed. For Murabaha, the profit is fixed at the start (the amount financed × the profit rate × the years) and spread evenly over the term.
- Is this the payment a bank will offer me?
- No. It is an estimate from the figures you enter. Banks set their own rates, fees and eligibility, and the final instalment can differ. Ask the bank for a written quote.
- What else do I pay when I buy?
- Registration and other one-off costs come on top of the down payment. The buying costs calculator adds them up.
