How to register a property sale
File the sale on the department’s website or the Sanad app, pay the amount in the text message, then attend to sign.
This is general information from official pages, not legal advice. Hagzi does not file these papers for you.
Who this is for
The seller and the buyer, or a person who holds a power of attorney from a notary. The department’s FAQ says identity for a non-Jordanian is a passport.
Where to go
Department of Lands and Survey The department announced electronic sale requests for the capital’s registration directorates, then for Aqaba, Zarqa and Irbid, and said the remaining directorates would follow. If your directorate is not named, ask the department.
Steps
- Create an account on the department’s website or in the Sanad app.
- Open My services and choose the sale service. Fill in the request.
- A text message gives you the request number. The department then processes the file.
- A later message gives the fee and a payment-order number. Pay it electronically. The FAQ names eFAWATEERcom, an electronic wallet, a bank app, or a bank branch.
- A message gives the time to attend the registration directorate and sign the sale contracts.
What to take
The sale announcements do not print a document checklist. The FAQ does say what counts as identity, and when a clearance is required.
- Identity: a Jordanian ID, a passport for a non-Jordanian, an appointment certificate for military personnel, or a digital ID from the Sanad app.
- If someone else attends: a power of attorney from a notary. The FAQ says property enquiries and ownership services are for the owner or that agent.
- A clearance from the planning authority, except consensual or judicial partition, and except an inheritance transfer of a Greater Amman Municipality property unless the heirs sign a waiver.
Fees
The text message states the amount. The FAQ says fees follow the schedule of the amended Land Registration Fees Law No. 7 of 2023, and administrative-cost Regulation No. 30 of 2020, and that the rate differs for relatives and when a housing company sells an apartment. This page does not print a percentage. Pay what the payment order says. The FAQ says the order prints its own validity and that orders are generally valid for five days, so use the date on the order.

Also on the official pages
- You can follow the request from the text messages, or under My requests in your account.
- The FAQ says a transfer agreed outside the department, including with a lawyer only, is not how ownership is registered.
- A gift, a mortgage, releasing a mortgage, replacing a title deed, a site plan and apartment registration were not given a public document list on the pages checked. Use the same portal or ask the directorate.
