Water, electricity and internet

Moving in, renting, buying or selling means putting the meter in the right name and ordering fibre from a company that covers the building. This page says which company serves your governorate and links to that company’s own service. Hagzi does not file the papers and does not take a fee for this.

What to do

  • Moving in or renting: transfer water and electricity into your name, then order fibre after a coverage check. The previous holder clears what they owe first.
  • Buying: the same transfers. Take the title deed (سند التسجيل) where the company asks for ownership.
  • Selling or leaving: pay what you owe, ask the company for a clearance, and do not stay the subscriber after someone else moves in.

Electricity

Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO)

  1. Copy of the new subscriber’s ID.
  2. A lease, or a recent title deed.
  3. The meter bill and a clearance from collections. The current holder pays what is owed first.
  4. A certified authorisation if you do not attend yourself. A deposit-waiver letter, certified if the old holder does not attend, only if they want their deposit transferred.
  5. The service guide does not print a fixed deposit. The company sets it.
  6. File at a customer office or through the «حسابي» e-services account as a change of subscription (change of meter ownership).

Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO)

  1. The person transferring and the person receiving both attend with ID, or an officially authorised representative attends for either of them.
  2. The electricity bill, a meter reading, and a clearance. Pay the transfer fee and any deposit difference. The page does not print those amounts.
  3. If you now own the property, a title deed in the new owner’s name.
  4. A new home connection, which is a different request, is 35 JOD for one phase or 60 JOD for three phases, plus a deposit “according to the rules”.

Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO)

  1. No transfer document list opened on the company site on 31 Oct 2026. Use the customer numbers on this card.
  2. A WhatsApp trial on 065331330, announced by the company on 23 Feb 2025, covers bill enquiries, faults and service requests.

Water

Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna)

  1. A copy of the lease, title deed or sale contract, a previous water bill, and the new holder’s ID.
  2. The current holder pays every amount due before the transfer.
  3. The deposit is set from the floor area. Stamps are 10 JOD. The guide does not print the area formula.
  4. File at the branch that serves the subscription. Call 117116, extension 2, to ask which branch. Someone else can file only with a power of attorney or a bank-certified authorisation.
  5. A Miyahuna employee inspects the site within a week. Go back to the office within two days of that visit to pay.
  6. miyahuna.com.jo did not open on 31 Oct 2026. The steps are from the company’s guide on the government open-data portal.

Yarmouk Water Company

  1. Your ID, a water bill for the same subscription, and a valid title deed or a copy of the lease.
  2. Fill in the transfer form. The old and new holders sign it. The old holder does not have to attend.
  3. The previous holder’s water and wastewater dues must be cleared when the area has wastewater service.
  4. The new holder, or their agent, signs the agreement.
  5. Domestic consumption deposit: 30 JOD minimum, then by floor area. Commercial deposits for farms and brick plants are 300 JOD. Revenue stamps are 10 JOD.
  6. If the tanks or the float valves are not maintained, the company may disconnect and will not accept an objection to the bill. No official tank size is published.

Aqaba Water Company

  1. A transfer procedure did not open on the company site. The new-connection page asks for a title deed, allocation letter or lease, a valid site plan, a civil-status ID, and a formal authorisation if you are not the owner. Commercial buildings also need an occupancy permit and a vocational licence.
  2. Previous amounts must be settled, and the property must already be connected to the wastewater network.
  3. Call 117116 or 03 201 4390 and ask how a transfer is filed in your area.

For a new tank or a solar water heater, use the solar and water-tanks page. Yarmouk does not publish a required tank size.

How to read an electricity bill

EDCO publishes these fields on a household bill. Other companies use their own layout. Hagzi does not calculate a bill.

  1. Subscriber name, tied to the subscription number.
  2. The consumption period.
  3. Subscription number: the subscriber’s serial number and the geographic area.
  4. Subscription type, such as household or commercial.
  5. Meter number.
  6. Net consumption.
  7. Amount due, in Jordanian dinars.

The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission publishes the electricity tariff and a household bill calculator. Use those pages for rates. Hagzi does not copy them and does not work out a bill.

Internet companies

Order fibre from the company that covers the building. These three publish a home fibre order on their own sites. The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission’s licensee list does not say who sells home fibre, so other licensees are not listed here. Hagzi has not checked them and does not send them your request.

None of the three pages publishes one shared list of documents. Start with the coverage check, then the company’s own order page.

TRC licensee list

Company and ministry pages checked 31 Oct 2026. Their page wins if it has changed.
