About this calculator
The affordability calculator starts from your income. It takes the share of your monthly income that all loan payments may use, subtracts the payments you already make, and treats what is left as the largest new monthly payment. It then works out the loan that payment repays at your rate and term, and the property price that loan buys with your down payment.
Questions
- What is the share of income for all debt?
- Banks usually cap all monthly loan payments at a share of income. The calculator starts with Hagzi's default for Jordan, and you can change it up to the highest value this page allows.
- Will a bank lend me this amount?
- Not necessarily. Banks make their own checks before they lend, and their limits can differ from the ones used here. Use the figure to plan your search, not as an approval.
- How do I see what this budget buys?
- The result links to properties for sale up to the price it works out.
